This simple cork frame is an easy, fun project and a great way to recycle wine corks you may have collected. If you save corks like I do, this charming wine cork frame will be right up your alley.
Wine Cork Frame

When I first made cork projects (see my cork coasters), I worried people might assume I drink a lot. The truth is I gave up alcohol in 2009, and I collect corks because I love crafting and recycling materials. Turning ordinary corks into decorative home pieces is one of my favorite ways to reuse everyday items.
With just a few simple supplies — wine corks, strong glue and a plain frame — you can transform a boring picture frame into a textured statement piece. The natural tones and cylindrical shapes of corks add a rustic, handcrafted feel that works well in farmhouse, coastal, or minimalist interiors. Save corks from bottles or source them from friends, and use them to create this attractive cork frame or other projects like cork coasters.
Cork Frame

Materials:
- A 5″ x 7″ frame with a flat front
- 13–15 wine corks (adjust quantity depending on frame size)
- A knife or utility blade for trimming corks
- Strong craft glue (such as a clear industrial craft adhesive)
- White paper and a pencil for layout
Instructions:
- Remove the glass and backing from the frame and set them aside.

- Place the frame face-down on the white paper and trace the inside edge to create a guide for arranging the corks.
- Lay out the corks on the traced shape, moving them until you’re happy with the arrangement. You can align corks vertically, horizontally, or mix orientations for visual interest.

- Apply a small amount of strong craft glue to each cork and press them firmly onto the frame. Work in sections so the glue doesn’t set before pieces are placed.

- After gluing full corks, identify gaps and trim corks as needed to fill those spaces. Make careful cuts for a neat fit. Glue the trimmed pieces in place and allow everything to dry completely according to your adhesive’s instructions.

- Once dry, replace the glass, insert your photo, and reattach the frame backing. Your finished cork frame is ready to display or give as a handmade gift.
