Happy Friday! Any plans for the weekend? I’m hosting a small spa evening with my best friend and our daughters — a relaxed girls’ night in. To prepare, I’ve been making spa party favors, and today I’m sharing a simple homemade lavender bath salts recipe that makes a lovely gift.

Homemade lavender bath salts recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mineral salt or Dead Sea salt
- 1–2 drops lavender essential oil (adjust to scent preference)
- 4–6 drops soap colorant (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine the salt and lavender essential oil in a bowl, stirring until the oil is evenly distributed.
- Add the colorant one drop at a time and mix until you reach your desired shade. Skip the colorant if you prefer a natural look.
- Transfer the mixture to an airtight container to allow the scent to infuse the salts fully.
For a personalized touch, consider mixing in dried herbs such as lavender buds or chamomile, or adjusting the amount of essential oil to suit your preference. Store the bath salts in a cool, dry place; small mason jars or sachets make attractive packaging and are perfect for gifting.
I bought mason jars, mineral and Dead Sea salts, and soap colorant from craft and department stores locally.
